The Twelve Clothes of Christmas #8

Merry Christmas everyone, I hope that you are having a wonderful day and, of course, are appropriately dressed for whatever you are doing.

Me......after spending most of the morning in my PJs I changed into my festive 'mistletoe and baubles' Christmas Fleur dress from Heyday Vintage Style Clothing. I blogged about this cutie recently but sadly couldn't afford it, but whaddya know, it went down to under half price in their pre-Christmas advent deals so I managed to bag a bargain, and just before they sold out.....bonus!!!

Have a lovely day whatever you are up to

The Twelve Clothes of Christmas #4

If you are still looking for the perfect Christmas dress with a touch of vintage styling then look no further than Heyday for it's brand new festive frock. The popular 1940s style Fleur wrap dress has been given a seasonal update in red fabric covered in baubles and mistletoe with green trim detailing and a present shaped button. I have a couple of these Fleur dresses already and they are so easy to wear and always draw compliments, if I had spare funds I would definitely be snapping this beauty up for Christmas events.

Limited edition so buy now or regret forever, Heyday are currently running a discount promotion for advent so you might even bag yourself a bargain.................

A Flurry of Fleurs

Today I took delivery of my third Fleur dress from Heyday and a total bargain at less than half price in their recent online sale. I already have the black floral and red, white and blue versions so I know how lovely this dress is and how well it fits me so I leapt at the chance to add another to my collection at a bargain price!!!

The Fleur dress is very simple and stylish, evoking a little bit of vintage 1940s glamour yet practical enough for everyday wear in a washable cotton fabric. Perfect for dressing up or down they are incredibly versatile and perfect for almost any occasion...from walking the dog to afternoon tea. This time I purchased the black with white daisy chain frock as it will look great accessorised with almost any colour. I can't wait to wear it.

In fact as soon as the postie delivered it this morning i had to try it on for a bit of gratuitous posing...please excuse the lack of make-up, undone hair and messy bedroom, it was early on a Saturday morning!!!

The style is lovely, it falls just below my knees and the wrap around style means I can adjust it to flatter and fit me perfectly. It gives me a great waist!!! Can't wait to wear it properly and style it up.

Here are pics of me last year in my other 2 Heyday Fleur dresses.

In my red, white and blue Fleur dress last Summer at the 2012 London Paralympics.

In my black floral Fleur dress at a vintage bike ride in Nottingham last year.

I wonder which Fleur dress I'll be adding to my collection next??? I'm waiting to see if they bring out and new fabric versions for Summer!!!

Olympic Adventures

Ok, ok.....so I know I'm late in posting about our Olympic / Paralympic adventures but better late than never I suppose!!!

I love watching athletics anyway so we were all easily swept away with Olympic fever this year because of London 2012. Our Olympic escapades started very early on in the year when I ordered tickets for the Paralympics for the twins birthday on 31st August. Luckily we got our tickets (it was a tense wait of several months to find out) and I managed to keep it secret for a few more months until the actual day.

The Olympic Park day passes gave us access to the site and certain events. We were lucky enough to watch wheelchair basketball and goalball - both BRILLIANT!!! We had a fantastic yet exhausting day, I didn't realise that so much walking would be involved in watching sport!!! As a Brucie Bonus the day gave us the chance to dress in patriotic attire............

Here I am waiting for the wheelchair basketball in my fabulous Heyday red, white and blue fleur dress
(currently on sale on their website and one of my favourite frocks)
with my Rocket Originals red wedges

The kids dressed appropriately too, well......when in Rome!!!

A few months previously we had hot footed it into Derby after work to catch the torch relay and wave our flags at the roadside

and the Olympic torch itself paid a visit to my school

not to mention the women's Olympic football match at Old Trafford that we went to see with school (sorry, no pic of that one you'll be relieved to read).

We've thoroughly enjoyed our Olympic and Paralympic summer, it's been absolutely brilliant - have you enjoyed it all as much as we have???
