Cycling with Style

Last Sunday I took Doris for her first proper vintage bike ride - the Nottingham Classic Ride. A large group of over 50 cyclists all with vintage or prettied up modern bikes donned their Sunday best to join in the 15 mile route through the city.

I wore my lovely heyday black floral fleur dress (which is now on sale on the website)

Although not sunny at least it wasn't raining. Doris and I remained at the back for most of the way but we still had a great time and haven't laughed so much in ages. We had two rest stops. The first at Wollaton Park gave the photographer from the Nottingham Evening Post lots of photo opportunities and the ride got two days of press coverage in the local paper!!!

Here's a lovely group shot

At the second rest stop.....Highfields on the University campus, we were greeted by local band Maniere des Bohemes and a bit of swing dancing ensued as well as prize giving for the best dressed man, woman and bike!!!

Selection of pictures from a fabulous day - can't wait for next year's event although I need more bike practice in the meantime!!!
